Wednesday.

Mum came up today, nice to see her and the girls like seeing her too. Lent her the baby bath, but we've lost the plug, which is a bit of a bugger.

Hannah decided to not sleep at lunch time - very upset, she did eventually go down for half an hour or so, but it wasn't long enough really. Took her up again at 4pm and she went out like a light ;-)

Emma spent a lot of time playing in hte garden with Nanny.

Tidied up the playroom (again) - Hannah does love pulling things out though, and now she's crawling it's not long before she spots her favourite things (either the basket of play food or the box of Lego Duplo), crawls on over, pulls the container out of the slot in the shelving unit, and begins merrily taking everything out piece by piece, all over the floor!

If I can clear a bit more up I may move the playpen in the play room..

Tuesday.

Spent most of the day out and about...

Dropped Emma off at school, then hot-footed it over to Buckingham with Hannah to do some shopping (if anyone knows somewhere closed to Brackley that sells Grape Nuts, please let me know ;-) )

Zoomed back home for Hannah's lunch, went to get Emma and then back home again - by now Hannah was asleep in the car.

She only slept for an hour though, so we upped and went to Mad Hatter's in Bicester for most of the afternoon. They have a cool new toy that Emma loved, a mini rollercoaster (a small truck and a wavy ramp to launch off).

Home again for tea and bedtime. Watched Unbreakable on TV (good film).

Wow, this stuff rocks ;-)

Monday.

T+1 and I'm still alive ;-)

Good night - heard Emma get up and go to the loo as I went to bed, she's doing so well at that. I'm amazed how quickly someone can learn this life thing.

Girls woke at normal time, around 6:15am. Did the normal routine today - up, breakfast, dressed, took Emma to school and so on.

Hannah was too excited to sleep this morning - probably I did the wrong thing by saying Hello to our neighbours when we got back, and then going into the lounge to take her coat off (so she saw toys). She was happy enough in her cot but was crawling around in it for half an hour or so before I gave up and got her. Tried again at 10am but, again, was too excited - probably happy to spend time with me.

Made her lunch and Emma's at the same time, Hannah did well but started falling asleep as I was giving her a petit filous! This was about 11:45am. Started getting her into her coat, and she was cuddling close to me - then I looked down to see she'd fallen asleep! Aww. Put her in the car and got Emma, (Emma held a whispered conversation with me all the way home :-) ). Put her in her cot when we got back, she wasn't too happy initially as it woke her a little, but she zonked out and slept for a good 2hrs.

Lunched with Emma and made this monkey cut-out thing:

I'd got the play pen out of the garage last night and so today was time for Hannah to get used to being in it. Sometimes she was happy, I played posting games through the bars to her and she enjoyed that. Emma was great, getting in it too and playing with her in there. At least now we have somewhere safe to leave her! Have to begin doing stair gates etc soon I expect.

Need to spend time clearing up the toy room - I was making a start at that this morning whilst Hannah was playing, but as fast as I tidied stuff up, she'd crawl over to me and start playing with whatever I'd just tidied and throwing it all over the room. Was very amusing actually.

Normal bath/bedtime routing tonight, got them both down by 7:15pm again. Now it's washing time - oh joy!

Sunday.

OK, so it's all started now. Kath left for Belfast at lunchtime - we all drove up (in my car now it's out of the garage), girls in the back enjoying being in Daddie's car. Had lunch at Birmingham Airport (you go to all these wild and crazy locations when you're a parent - Lotty, India has nothing on this!) and then saw Kath off.

Massive queue for security, so I was a bit worried she'd miss the flight and was half expecting a call on the mobile all the way back home to turn round and go rescue her, but all was fine in the end.

On the way back, I put Emma in front with me - partly cause she enjoys it, and partly so that Hannah could sleep in peace ;-) I need to make a playlist on my iPod for Emma though, she really likes her own music in the car!

Spent the rest of the afternoon playing with them (Hannah woke up after only and hour was needed a bit of TLC all afternoon) and generally having fun. Hannah has cracked the crawling lark, so she's all over the place now - and of course always heads for the things she shouldn't have! And laughs lots when I grab her and bring her back.

One of Kath's cases got lost en-route - turns out it went to Schipol - easy mistake, Amsterdam - Belfast! Hopefully it'll turn up tomorrow.

Got the girls fed - Emma helped cook a stir fry. Did a quick bedtime, no bath tonight, and that went well - after putting Hannah down I spent some time with Emma and she enjoyed that I think. Both in bed by 7:15pm.

Spent the evening tidying up ;-) and watched Top Gear. Love the stretch limos!
